2009 LARIMER COUNTY FAIR AND RODEO AT THE RANCH
DOUBLES ATTENDANCE IN ONE YEAR

2009 LARIMER COUNTY FAIR AND RODEO, PRESENTED BY
RANCH-WAY FEEDS, ENTERTAINS LARGEST CROWDS IN
RECENT MEMORY

Loveland, CO - By all accounts, the 2009 Larimer County Fair and Rodeo, presented
by Ranch-Way Feeds, at The Ranch in Loveland, was a smashing success, as almost each individual event saw an extensive increase in attendance from previous years.
Fair events from rodeos and roping shows to carnivals and concessions showed substantial growth.

Director of The Ranch, Bob Herrfeldt, announced Thursday that the 2009 Larimer
County Fair and Rodeo attendance was 74,436. This eclipsed the 2008 attendance
by 38,175 or a 105% increase.

Larimer County Commissioner and liaison to the Fair Board, Kathay Rennels, stated
“So many things came together for our Fair this year.

The expertise of The Ranch staff, the hard work of the Fair Board, the economic drive
to vacation locally and putting on an excellent event all played a factor. Those who
came for the first time will come back and those long term "fair attendees" had a great time.” She added, “Being told that ‘this is like the old fair, now you got it right’ was a very high compliment from someone who has supported 4-H and the Fair for all their lives.”

Presenting sponsor of the 2009 Larimer County Fair and Rodeo, Ranch-Way Feeds, relayed their appreciation. While speaking about this year’s event, Kim Szidon, General Manager of Ranch-Way Feeds, told The Ranch “The turnout and excitement generated
at the Fair this year was truly amazing. The Ranch was able to facilitate and emphasize so much of the great agriculture in our community.”

Mike Adams, President of the Larimer County Fair Board stated “This year's fair was a
complete success from my perspective. My kids have been involved in 4-H for the last
five years and I was a 4-H member in Larimer County as a youngster as well. This event
was the best that I can remember.”

The success of the event found its way into the barns and exhibition halls as well.
This year’s event drew a record number of horse event entries at 1,400, which is larger than the entries submitted in the 2008 Colorado State Fair. Larimer County Extension Director, Laurel Kubin, said “I am so pleased with the number of people who chose to volunteer their time, from exhibitors to superintendents, kids and parents alike, the commitment they put forth so others may see their work is truly what makes the
Larimer County Fair and Rodeo a success."
